Radio Nowhere
By Kate Cortesi
Directed by Taylor Reynolds
Premiered April 23, 2021
Radio Nowhere is an irreverent comedy about a young artist’s attempt to save his strange little radio show by selling off an even stranger set of valuables. Tune in and join DJ Anonymous as his scrappy telethon turns into an exploration of grief, art, popularity, and the myth of the white male genius.
Kate Cortesi is a Brooklyn- and Boston-based playwright from Washington, D.C who writes about women, young people, liars, and the American psyche - with jokes. Full-length plays include Great Kills (Princess Grace Award), A Patron of the Arts (Cherry Lane Theatre, South Coast Rep New Scripts Series), ONE MORE LESS (NYFA award, Relentless Award finalist, Playwrights Horizons New Works Lab), Love (Sky Cooper New American Play Prize, Marin Theatre Company, Ojai Playwrights Conference, Kilroys List) and Is Edward Snowden Single? (The Jungle Theater, Single Carrot Theatre, Dorset Theatre Festival, The Pool). Her last piece for Keen was a play for teenagers called Citizens United, a comedy about the tragic Supreme Court ruling.
